@trueblueaggies

  In July of 2018 Utah State University's (USU) President, Noelle Cockett, decreed Fridays as True Blue Aggie Fridays (TBAF) to strengthen Aggie pride, spirit and tradition. 

  Working as the office/social media assistant at USU's Marketing and Communications office, I ran the @trueblueaggies Instagram and Utah State University: True Blue Facebook to promote True Blue Aggie Friday through weekly TBAF posts, giveaways, student takeovers and many more student oriented campaigns. 

  Our objective is to push students to wear Aggie Blue on Fridays, post a picture in their gear and tag #trueblueaggiefriday. Our content is mostly from students themselves which is a driving force for them to participate because they get to be featured and have their time in the spotlight!

Stories

  As you can see we have many highlighted stories that we keep on our Instagram home page, so that our audience can always revisit certain posts.

  We chose the spotlight icon for our student takeover highlight. 

   

   - Spring Break Takeover: four students in all different locations did takeovers to show us their fun plans.

   - Takeover Thursdays: when USU transitioned to online school, we asked students to show us a day in their quarantined life. We also then post a picture of the student on our timeline to tell our followers to watch our stories.

  This microphone icon symbolizes our Testimony Tuesday series that we started during quarantine as well. We contact students to send us a minute video of them explaining why they love USU; we call these Aggiemonies. We also then post a picture of the student on our timeline to tell our followers to watch our stories.

Every Friday we post a story for TBAF along with a real post that we find through students' Instagram pages.

Because students get most of their Aggie gear from USU's campus store, we will also make our own original content by photographing students in new gear to help the store increase their sales. All of the above pictures were taken by me.

We do giveaways almost every week. This helps boost our followers and interactions with our page. Most of our giveaways have the same rules where they need to follow our page, like the photo and comment.

When we post to Instagram, we also copy it over to Facebook. Our audience on Facebook is catered more towards alumni and parents, so for some posts we alter our captions and giveaway rules to what will be more luring to them.
